Crosby returns to game after taking puck in face - NHL.com Mar 30th 2012, 00:06 Sidney Crosby briefly left Pittsburgh's game against the New York Islanders on Tuesday after taking a puck in the face early in the second period. Islanders defenseman Dylan Reese tried to clear the puck, but his attempt hit Crosby just under the face shield and dropped him to the ice, bleeding. Play was stopped and he was helped to the dressing room holding a towel to his face. Crosby missed nearly 11 months because of a concussion suffered in early January before returning on Nov. 21. He went down with concussion symptoms on Dec. 5 and didn't return to action until March. 15. Crosby returned to the Penguins bench with 10:13 left in the second period and took his next shift.
