From egg hunts and Easter bonnet parades to a special event just for pets, the region is hopping with Easter fun. Check out some of these egg-citing events.

• YWCA Bristol's annual Easter Eggstravaganza, featuring a pancake breakfast, pictures with the Easter Bunny, a cake and goody walk and other activities, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 31 at the YWCA, 106 State St., Bristol, Tenn. The pancake breakfast and pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available from 9 to 11 a.m.; reservations are required for breakfast and can be made by calling the YWCA at (423) 968-9444. Bake sale items, handmade crafts and specialty Easter baskets will also be for sale during the event. Proceeds will benefit the YWCA Children's Center.

• The International Storytelling Center's Storytelling Park will be the site of Historic Jonesborough's annual Easter Eggstravaganza, to be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 31. Activities will include pictures with the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, free food, face painting, a petting zoo as well as games and crafts. Children will also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the Town of Jonesborough's official equipment, including a dump truck, fire truck and a police car with K9 Sgt. Rio. The activities at Storytelling Park are free and open to children 12 and younger.

• Children 12 and younger are invited to bring their baskets and hunt eggs from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 31 at Bloomingdale Baptist Church's Christian Activity Center, located behind the church at 3220 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport. The event, sponsored by Bloomingdale Baptist's Ladies WMU Group, will be held rain or shine. Call (423) 288-5151 or 288-4178.

• The streets of Jonesborough- will sparkle with gold during the Hunt for the Golden Egg event, to be held immediately following the town's annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, March 31. Nearly $150 in real gold coins along with other sweet treasures will be stuffed in golden eggs and hidden throughout the Main Street area for the hunt, which will take place from 3 to 5 p.m., beginning at the Lollipop Shop. The Easter Bunny will also be available for photos and will be handing out special clues regarding the location of the golden eggs. The event, sponsored by the Jonesborough Area Merchants & Services Association, The Lollipop Shop of Jonesborough and the Town of Jonesborough, is free and open to the public. • Mooresburg's 10th Annual Easter Parade and Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department, will be held Sunday, April 1 at Fire Station 2 on Route 31 beside Mooresburg Elementary School. Lineup for the parade will begin at 1:30 p.m., with float and bonnet judging at 2 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be available for sale between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. The egg hunt will begin following the parade, after all floats have returned and announcements are made. • Hands On! Regional Museum in downtown Johnson City will host a Dinosaur Egg Hunt from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, April 6. The event, being held in conjunction with the museum's newest feature exhibit, "Dinosaur Revolution," will also feature a fossil dig, temporary tattoos, games and more. Regular admission rates apply. • Join the KOA in Blountville from noon to 5 p.m., Friday, April 6 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 7 for a host of Easter activities, including a visit by the Easter Bunny, crafts, an egg hunt and more. Children should bring their own basket for the egg hunt. Cost is $5 per person, unless camping on the premises, and then admission is free. Call (423) 323-7790.

• An Easter Bonnet Parade and Egg Huntwill be held Saturday, April 7 at
Cumberland Square Park in Bristol. The parade and other spring activities will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by an egg hunt for children ages 2-9 at 10 a.m. Children and adults can create Easter bonnets and participate in the parade, and prizes will be awarded for the best hats. • Bloomingdale Ruritan's annual Egg Hunt will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday April 7 at Sullivan North High School in Kingsport. Children 12 and younger will be divided into four fields for egg hunting, including one area especially for children with handicaps. Every egg will contain a prize. • Mountain View Baptist Church in Johnson City will hold an Easter Egg Hunt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 7 on the church grounds, 4005 Bristol Highway, near Winged Deer Park. The event will feature Bible stories, food, prizes, an Easter basket walk, crafts, inflatables and, of course, the egg hunt, open to babies through sixth graders. • Urban Eggscapade will return to Liberty Park in downtown Johnson City (across the street from the Johnson City Library) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7. There will be an egg hunt for children ages 0-12, arts and crafts, entertainment, face painting, food vendors and an appearance by the Easter Bunny, who will close out the day's events by leading an Easter bonnet parade. • Breaks Interstate Park in Breaks, Va., is gearing up for its 18th annual Easter Egg Hunt, to be held Saturday, April 7 at Potter's Knoll. The Easter Bunny will arrive at 11:30 a.m. to pose for photos and hand out treats, and the Egg Hunt will begin promptly at noon. Children will be divided into three groups — ages 1-3, 4-7 and 8-12 — to search for more than 3,000 eggs containing 350 prizes, ranging from coloring books to electronics. • Kingsport's theROCK Church will host "Rock the Block" from noon to 7 p.m., Saturday, April 7 at Memorial Park. The event will feature free food, an Easter egg hunt, inflatables, a petting zoo, cornhole tournament and live music, including a performance by the Grammy-nominated Christian rock band DecembeRadio. • Rye Cove Community Church, the Rye Cove Community Church Women and Three Bells United Methodist Church Women will hold their 6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7 in the Picnic Area at Natural Tunnel State Park in Duffield, Va. Children from toddlers through 17 will be divided into five age groups — toddler-2; 3 and 4; 5-7; 8-10; and 11-17 — to hunt eggs. Participants are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early and bring a basket or bag to collect their eggs in. Lunch will be served following the egg hunt at Shelter No. 5. • The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park in Big Stone Gap, Va., will hold its annual "Egg-Stra" Special Easter Tea from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 7 in the museum's Victorian Parlor. In addition to enjoying a themed tea, participants will make a craft and have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Cost is $15 and covers one adult and one child; additional children from the same household can attend for $5 each. All children must be accompanied by an adult. • A Doggie Spring Treat Seek will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 21 at Winged Deer Park's Lakefront Festival Plaza in Johnson City. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. Admission is $5 per dog and includes an event photo. Dogs of all sizes are invited to come seek treats and prizes.
