Carmelo Anthony, appearing Tuesday afternoon on ESPN New York 1050's "The Michael Kay Show," said he will play "for sure" Wednesday night against the Orlando Magic.

Anthony, who's officially listed as questionable with a strained right groin, received treatment on Tuesday, but said he still feels "a little sore."

"I was there all morning getting lots and lots of treatment," he said. "But tomorrow's a new day, get some more rest today, get some more treatment later on and see what happens from there. But I've had a groin injury before and it's nowhere near the first one."

The first groin injury caused him to miss seven games in mid-February. While Anthony said he'll play on Wednesday, he's not sure how much his game will be limited. Considering the Knicks need his scoring in so many different ways, he'll have to be prepared to carry the weight of the offense.

"I'm a slasher, I'm a powerful guy, I like to take it off the dribble, so as far as being explosive, I really don't know how that's going to affect it," Melo said. "But we shall see. I'm going to go out there and play and see what happens."

Now that Amare Stoudemire is out indefinitely with a bulging disk in his back, the Knicks will have to count on Anthony even more.

"I think he just makes me have to step my game up and become the complete player that the team is looking for," Melo said. "We're going to miss him. We don't really know what his timetable for his return or what's really going on with his back.

"I pray for him, we're praying for him as a team. One of our soldiers is down and we just want him to get healthy. Hopefully he can come back pretty soon and continue his run with us and continue to have fun with what we have going on."
