GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Sunday's NCAA men's Midwest Regional tournament game between North Carolina and Creighton is being delayed 15 minutes.
A report in by the Omaha World Herald said the delay was caused because of a medical emergency with the driver of the Creighton team bus. ACC spokesman Brian Morrison, however, said the delay in game is not connected to Creighton bus incident. He said long-running earlier games led CBS to ask for a push-back.
The game originally was announced by CBS as starting at 5:15 ET. It now will start at 5:30.
Morrison added, though, that a substitute driver was delivered to Creighton's bus to continue the trip. The team was staying about 30 minutes from the Greensboro Arena.
Creighton, which is in Omaha, is the eighth seed out of the Missouri Valley Conference. Top-seeded North Carolina plays in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The winner goes to St. Louis for the regional semifinal on Friday.
Also just prior to game time, UNC announced that forward John Henson will play after missing three full games with a wrist injury. It was not determined whether he would start.
