ATLANTA -- Baylor is playing in its second Sweet 16 in three seasons.
Xavier has played in four of the last six.
But both teams are trying to garner more respect with a trip to the NCAA tournament Elite Eight after Friday night's meeting at the Georgia Dome.
"Baylor's been talked down upon, and we want to show everybody that we are a basketball team that's capable of winning the championship, capable of winning games,"
Perry Jones III said. "A lot of guys question our toughness. We just want to show everybody we're a tough team, and we can play with the best."
Xavier isn't only still trying to shed its reputation for a regular-season brawl against Cincinnati but the "midmajor" label still bothers the Musketeers.
"Sometimes I'm offended," guard Tu Holloway said. "At this point, we're just here to advance. If we're being called the Cinderella, OK. Just time to go out there and ply ball the best way we can."
Xavier forward Andrew Walker will start, despite missing Thursday's practice due to migraine headaches, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Forward Dezmine Wells (toe injury) is a game-time decision.
Xavier is going for its first Elite Eight since 2008 and its third appearance ever. Baylor also played in the 2010 Elite Eight.
