Wizards at Grizzlies: Game 44 discussion thread - Washington Post (blog)

The Wizards (10-33) will not have Nene until Wednesday in New Jersey, but they will welcome two new players in their game against Memphis. Brian Cook, the other player acquired in the three-team deal involving Denver and the Los Angeles Clippers, and Edwin Udiles, a called up from the Dakota Wizards of the NBA Developmental League, will both make their debuts after arriving in town on Saturday.

Cook and Udiles both worked out with his new teammates before the game and Coach Randy Wittman said both players might get some action against the Grizzlies. "Game will dictate that, a little bit. Obviously, we haven't been able to do anything with them. They really don't have an idea what we're doing and sometimes that's a good thing. We'll see. I won't be afraid to put them out there."

Former Wizard Gilbert Arenas is also in town and plans to work out for the Grizzlies on Saturday. Memphis has won five straight games at home against the Wizards, including a 107-93 victory on Jan. 29, 2011. It has also brought back all-star forward Zach Randolph, who returned after missing the past two months with a knee injury to have 25 point and nine rebounds off to bench in the Grizzlies' overtime loss to Toronto.

"They got a big front line and Zach coming back adds another dimension to their game," Wittman said. "It's going to be physical. We've got to match that physicality right from the start and not be surprised by it."
