Sean Couturier, Jakub Voracek and Danny Briere scored to provide the offense.
After an underwhelming start to the season, Bryzgalov has dominated of late and proved worthy of the nine-year, $51 million contract he signed in June. He stretched his shutout streak to more than 196 minutes and has stopped 152 of 154 shots.
He outplayed Martin Brodeur, denying him career win No. 651. Brodeur won his 650th career game on Sunday when he beat the Flyers, 4-1. Sergei Bobrovsky was in goal for the Flyers that night as the streaking Bryzgalov got a night off after starting 11 straight games.
The punchless Devils took only three shots in the third period and went 0 for 5 on the power play.
"We were outcompeted in a lot of the small areas of the game that we're usually pretty good at, and it showed," Coach Peter DeBoer said. "They were better than us."
With the victory, the Flyers took a 2-point lead over the Devils and moved into fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
CAPITALS 5, ISLANDERS 4 Matt Hendricks scored in the fourth round of a shootout, and visiting Washington finished off a three-goal comeback against the Islanders.
The Capitals trailed by 4-1 late in the second before Alex Ovechkin scored in the final minute of the period. Dmitry Orlov scored 1 minute 51 seconds into the third to make it 4-3, and Ovechkin tied it at 10:15 with his 29th goal.
John Tavares scored twice, including his career-best 31st goal, and added an assist, Matt Moulson netted his 30th of the season, and defenseman Travis Hamonic also scored for the Islanders, who lost a third straight game in heartbreaking fashion.
BLACKHAWKS 4, BLUES 3 Patrick Kane had the only score in a shootout and host Chicago beat league-leading St. Louis, ending the Blues' five-game winning streak.
Kane was the first skater and made a nice fake before beating Jaroslav Halak. Chicago goalie Corey Crawford, who entered the game in the second period after starter Ray Emery was pulled, stopped T. J. Oshie, Andy McDonald and David Perron in the shootout.
LIGHTNING 6, BRUINS 1 Steven Stamkos scored twice to reach 50 goals in a season for the second time, and Tampa Bay sent visiting Boston to its third straight loss.
The Lightning scored three times in the first five minutes and coasted from there to help goalie Dustin Tokarski earn his first N.H.L. victory.
STARS 1, WILD 0 Jamie Benn's goal early in the third period and Kari Lehtonen's second consecutive shutout gave visiting Dallas its sixth straight victory, with a win over Minnesota.
FLAMES 3, SHARKS 2 Matt Stajan scored at 4:20 of overtime and Miikka Kiprusoff finished with 31 saves to lift Calgary over visiting San Jose.
PANTHERS 5, MAPLE LEAFS 2 Sean Bergenheim scored two goals and Florida beat visiting Toronto.
HYBRID ICING APPROVED The general managers agreed to recommend replacing traditional icing with hybrid icing at their spring meeting in Boca Raton, Fla., although the exact language of the rule has yet to be worked out.
Hybrid icing involves a race to an imaginary line between the face-off dots rather than to the end boards.
Under traditional icing rules, a handful of players have sustained serious injuries.
The general managers rejected a measure to take out the trapezoid behind the net and allow goalies to clear the puck from that space.
Finally, the managers rejected a move to restore the red line and again make two-line passes illegal, as was the case before the 2004-5 lockout. JEFF Z. KLEIN
SABRES' MYERS IS SUSPENDED Buffalo will have to continue its playoff push without defenseman Tyler Myers, who has been suspended without pay by the N.H.L. for three games for an illegal hit from behind. (AP)
