Blackhawks Game Day: Lead Capitals 4-2 after 2 periods - Chicago Tribune Mar 18th 2012, 23:13 Hawks winger Michael Frolik returned to the lineup Sunday after missing eight games as a healthy scratch. (Nuccio DiNuzzo/Tribune photo) By Chris Kuc, Tribune reporter 7:51 p.m. CDT, March 18, 2012 The Chicago Blackhawks kicked off the final 10-game stretch of the regular season when they faced the Washington Capitals on Sunday night at the United Center. The Hawks have been hot at home with points in 12 of their last 15 games at the UC and sport the NHL's third-best home mark at 24-7-5. After two periods, the Hawks lead 4-2. Andrew Shaw has two goals while Patrick Kane and Viktor Stalberg have also scored for the Hawks. Bryan Bickell has added two assists. Veteran Mike Knuble and Alex Ovechkin have the Capitals' goals. Corey Crawford is in goal for the Hawks and is opposed by Michal Neuvirth for the Capitals, who are in the midst of a season-long, five-game road trip. Hawks captain Jonathan Toews missed his 13th consecutive game with a concussion. Toews didn't skate Sunday and before the game coach Joel Quenneville said the center is "trending in the right way." Also sitting for the Hawks are forwards Jimmy Hayes and Brendan Morrison and defensemen Sean O'Donnell and Sami Lepisto.  Winger Michael Frolik is back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch the previous eight games.
