Old Sturbridge Village's April school vacation week, April 14 to 22, gives kids and families a chance to experience vintage New England spring activities – welcoming newborn lambs to the farm, prepping for the planting season, and celebrating the colonial bid for freedom in 1775 on Patriots Day, April 16.

Highlighting April Vacation Week is the two-day "Farm Fervor" Discovery Adventure program on April 17-18. Children can choose the costumed Discovery Adventures or non-costumed Exploration Adventures.

Two-day "Farm Fervor" Discovery Adventure - an in-costume experience where children will take on the role of a real Sturbridge resident in the 1830s.  Children will experience the farm in spring and explore the traditional activities that prepared the 19th century farm for the summer and fall seasons. Activities will include: making a trellis to start young peas for planting, cooking over the open hearth, creating a 19th-century craft, interacting with costumed historians and grafting an heirloom apple tree to take home, plant and watch grow over the years!  Children will also learn about bee-keeping and preparing the soil and seedlings for planting. This Adventure is packed with fun and is certain to keep the children busy and engaged in the 1830s.

One-day Exploration Adventures - these one-day non-costumed programs will lead your children down the path of adventure with a new theme for every day.  Children of all ages will learn about how we lived in the past and how the past connects to the present.  Register for as many days as you choose -  each day has a different focus.
From Cushions to Cocoa and Farms to Forest, there is sure to be an exciting adventure awaiting during April vacation week.
