Friday Fun: Masters Edition - Waggle Room
Apr 6th 2012, 13:33

Hello friends. Many of the game's greats are at Augusta National this week - just in case we haven't reminded you enough of that fact - and the first round of the Masters has been etched into history books. Staying true to form, this week's segment focuses on these great players, past and present, as we remind ourselves of the events of the week in an incredibly serious manner. Friday Fun: a tradition like no other.

Star-divide

- Henrik Stenson made quite the move early on in his opening round at Augusta, leading the pack at one point by 3 strokes. On his 18th hole, however, Stenson ended up taking a quadruple-bogie 8 to close his round, which included a short-lived temper tantrum amidst the trees. "Oh, you're going to tell me you didn't see that mulch give me the middle finger during my backswing?" Stenson remarked following his round. "Whatever. Go root for Tiger or something."

- Tiger Woods grinded his way to finish at even-par for his first round after shooting a 72. Let the record show that the preceding was the first time I have been able to use the terms "Tiger Woods" and "grinding" in the same sentence without succumbing to a giggle fit.

- Amateur golfer and avid reader Patrick Cantlay enjoyed his first appearance at Augusta National, shooting a one-under-par 71 for his opening round. Cantlay would later be seen running through the Magnolia trees around Augusta carrying a bow and quiver of suction-cup arrows yelling "I AM KATNISS!" while being pursued by tournament officials.

- Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Arnold Palmer were chosen as the honorary starters of the 2012 tournament. Following the opening ceremonies, all three men were seen entering Butler Cabin, activating a hidden switch on a bust of Bobby Jones on a bookshelf, then slyly slipping into a secret passageway.

- Lee Westwood is your first-round leader, firing an impressive 67 in his opening round. Hot on his tail was Louis Oosthuizen, who record a four-under round of 68. Contrary to popular belief, these men are different people as opposed to the theory that Oosthuizen turns into the Incredible Westwood when agitated.
