Mike Smith stopped 54 shots and earned his third straight shutout in Phoenix's 2-0 win over visiting Columbus on Tuesday night.

Boyd Gordon and Gilbert Brule scored 2:03 apart in the second period to provide the only offense Smith needed. Phoenix is seventh in the Western Conference and leads the Sharks by one point with two games remaining.

Smith extended his scoreless streak to 219 minutes, 59 seconds, and posted his eighth shutout of the season and his 19th in the NHL. Smith (36-18-10) survived seven Columbus power plays and tied the franchise's single-season shutout mark.

Rangers 5, Flyers 3:

Ryan Callahan and Artem Anisimov scored as part of a four-goal first period, and visiting New York swept the season series with the Flyers for the first time in 40 years to clinch the top seed in the East.

Canucks 5, Ducks 4:

Max Lapierre's shootout goal lifted host Vancouver to its seventh straight win. ... The Canucks lead St. Louis for the top seed in the Western Conference by three points and are tied with the Rangers with an NHL best 109 points.

Sabres 6, Maple Leafs 5:

Jordan Leopold scored with 1:53 left in regulation to force overtime, and Derek Roy scored a power-play goal with 1:31 left in the extra period as host Buffalo kept its playoff hopes alive despite falling behind 3-0 in the first. ... The Sabres and Capitals each have 88 points with two games remaining. Washington holds the tiebreaker.

Devils 3, Islanders 1:

Johan Hedberg made 19 saves and host New Jersey won its third straight but lost center Jacob Josefson for at least a month with a broken left wrist.

Penguins 5, Bruins 3:

Sidney Crosby had two goals and an assist for visiting Pittsburgh.

Jets 5, Panthers 4:

Andrew Ladd scored two goals, including the winner 3:12 into OT, as Winnipeg prevented host Florida from clinching the Southeast Division title.

Hurricanes 2, Senators 1:

Cam Ward made 38 saves for visiting Carolina, his shutout bid spoiled by Jason Spezza with 13 seconds left.

Predators 2, Wild 1:

Backup Anders Lindback stopped 25 shots through overtime and all three shots in a shootout, and Alexander Radulov scored in the shootout for host Nashville.

Briefly:

The Canadiens' All-Star goalie Carey Price will miss Wednesday's game against Tampa Bay because he is experiencing headaches following a hit to the head in practice Thursday. ... Edmonton coach Tom Renney was fined $10,000 for suggesting the Oilers didn't get more calls in Monday's 2-0 loss to the Kings because "maybe they need Hollywood in the playoffs."
