Fun.'s infectious 'We Are Young,' featuring Janelle Monae, has become the year's top selling track so far.
'We Are Young,' nearing 3 million in sales, has dominated both rock and mainstream radio and topped the Billboard charts.
Fun.'s 'We Are Young,' off of their debut album, 'Some Nights,' sits at the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 for the fifth week running and has held the top spot on the Top Digital Songs chart for six weeks and Top On-Demand Songs chart for three weeks.
The song also lands at #2 on the Top Rock Songs ranking and #7 on the Top Pop Songs ranking.
'We Are Young' was released on September 20, 2011, but really made its mark when it was covered on the 'Glee' episode, "Hold On to Sixteen," that aired in December 2011. At the time, the song was the first that 'Glee' covered that wasn't already a hit.
'We Are Young' was then licensed for a Chevrolet ad for the Chevy Sonic that aired during the Super Bowl, giving the song major exposure. It was also used at Apple's event to launch their newest iPad in March 2012 and the WWE used the song recently for The Rock vs John Cena special.
After climbing the charts, 'We Are Young' became the top selling song in the U.S. and hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in March.
Fun. will perform their hit song on the Late Show with David Letterman on April 23 and continues their sold out tour through mid-June.

Will 'We Are Young' be bumped from its perch as the top selling track for the year by Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend'? Well... yes, definitely. But what a great ride Fun. has had.
