More than 30,000 competitors have hit the pavement in the annual 'run for the kids' fun-run in Central Melbourne.
Serious runners and the not-so-serious, made their way through the Domain Tunnel and over the Bolte Bridge during the 14 km course.
Their efforts raised more than $1.5 million for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday appeal.
Australian cross-country champion Martin Dent crossed the finish line first in a time of 42 minutes and 20 seconds.
That is three minutes faster than last year's winner.
"It's always good to support a children's cause," he said.
"Feel like I was working pretty hard towards the end, I was scared Liam was going to come back at me so I had to keep pushing.
"I was glad to see the finish line at the end."
Liam Adams came in at second place, at under 43 minutes.
"It's a sensational race, it's for a good cause," he said.
Finishing first in the short course was David Bayley.
About 12,000 runners and walkers took on the shorter course, a 5.2 kilometre leg, which kicked off about half an hour ahead of the main event.
Despite being out of breath, David Bayley says he feels terrific.
"You never expect to win, it all depends on how you run on the day," he said.
