OCEAN CITY -- Kicking off Easter weekend for the 13th consecutive year, the annual OC April Art and Craft and Easter Kids Fun Fair promises plenty of fun and shopping opportunities for people of all ages.

The event, held at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, features more than 85 different vendors, along with a festive Kids Fun Fair for the little ones.

"It's really grown on its own accord," said Mike Wicklein, organizer and president of Ocean Promotions. "People come and they enjoy it, and they come back the next year. It's extremely affordable, and it's become very popular."

Vendors from across the country will be displaying a wide variety of creative and unique gifts, craft items, artwork and more.

"When people think of arts and crafts, they tend to think of it in a narrow view," Wicklein said. "What they're not thinking of -- there's a lot of gift ideas and possibilities in there, and there are a lot of great accessories. People are stuck with the image or a little painting or a wooden toy, and it's much more than that. There's a lot of variety inside of art and craft."

Wicklein noted that the event could be the perfect place to pick up that hard-to-find item for Mom.

"Mother's Day is a big shopping day, and people are always looking for something new and different for Mom, and this is a great opportunity for that," he said. "Moms are tough to shop for."

The Kids Fun Fair is overflowing with opportunities for children to enjoy themselves, highlighted by more than a dozen different Easter egg hunts. Jelly bean guessing-games, coloring tables, door prizes and a special visit from the Easter Bunny round out a full day of events.

"There's a lot of entertainment, and there's always something going on for the children," Wicklein said. "We just want people to enjoy themselves, bring the kids and have a nice, relaxing time in Ocean City. The parking is free and plentiful, and it should be a great time."
